RAM TRUCKS

Popular Mechanics

Popular Mechanics determined the winners of the Automotive Excellence Awards through extensive research and study. The editors visited factories and interviewed engineers in addition to driving and testing all of the competing vehicles. RAM was the runaway winner in the Best Truck category. The editors singled out the eight-speed automatic transmission offered on the Ram lineup for particular praise, along with the variety of engine options offered on the Ram 1500. Popular Mechanics stated that the Ram from “top to bottom…is the model to beat.”

Ward’s Automotive

This is the third straight year a Ram 1500 truck has been named to the Wards 10 Best Engines Award list. Ward’s Automotive named the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine as “one of the 10 Best Engines for 2016.” Of particular note, the EcoDiesel was the only light-duty truck engine to win and also has the distinction of having the longest tenure on the annual list. The editors summed it up nicely, “…A returning winner, the engine continues to wow us with its smooth and continuous power, along with its great fuel economy.”

Four Wheeler

The new 2016 RAM Rebel wins off-road title with FOUR WHEELER’S 2016 Pickup Truck of the Year. This is the 27th annual event where FOUR WHEELER magazine editors have chosen a truck to hold the coveted annual title. Judges praised the Rebel pickup’s performance, saying it was a “rocket” in the city and on the highway and it propelled the truck with “conviction.” FOUR WHEELER editors added, “It has admirable towing and payload capacity, good on-road handling, brisk acceleration and strong braking, a comfortable interior with convenient storage and amenities, a smooth ride, and huge off-road capability in all terrains.”
